Approach to the CSR activity of our company

Chemicals are used widely in our daily life and greatly contribute to the development of technology. However, some chemicals are inflammable and/or poisonous, and we are not provided with adequate knowledge of their danger and toxicity. In the case that these hazardous chemicals are handled inappropriately or abused, there is the possibility of their having significant effect on human health and the environment.
Therefore, we set up "PL Committee" in 1995 and "General Safe Executive Committee" in 1996, each as the inter-departmental organizations in our company, and we have actively promoted various measures for customer's safe use of our products, protecting the environment, or preventing chemicals from being misused.
 
On the other hand, companies are supposed to not only pursue profit but also to run the business on their corporate vision through active exchange with stakeholders*) and contribute to the sound development of the society.
Since the foundation in 1944, we have been working in the supporting progress of science and technology behind the scenes by providing reagents and semiconductor chemicals. We will operate our business on the basis of contributing to society from now on.
Then "CSR Committee" has been started since April 2005. We have progressively changed the previous "PL Committee" and "General Safe Executive Committee" and newly set up this "CSR". . From here on, centering on that committee, we will promote "CSR" activities in all employees as a body.
  

*) The stakeholder generally means an individual, a corporation or a group like the customers or the suppliers, the owner of a firm, the shareholders, employees and their family, local residences, the local government, and the bank having their account, who has an interest in or is affected by the result of our corporate activities.
