Ionic Liquids
Ionic liquids are “salts” composed of only ions (anions, cations), and liquid compounds are particularly called ionic liquids. Generally, “salt” composed of ions is known to be high in melting point as typified by inorganic salt. However, since “Ionic liquid” with a low melting point has been reported since the early 1990s, various compounds have been synthesised and their physical properties have been reported.
There is no definite definition, and the name which has been named is various like “room temperature molten salt” or “room temperature molten salt”.
